About Simplistic
General Information
Name: Simplistic
Type: Blog
Definition: Characterized by extreme simplism, oversimplified
Established: September 20, 2006
Hostess: Hera

Originally the extremely inactive and dead Blossoming Heaven, I decided to change the site name, hosts, and make it more active. After nearly a week of fussing over the move and changing the layout, Senritsu officially opened on the 20th of September, 2006. Through online blogging, I made countless wonderful friends on the world wide web and simultaneously educated myself.

In September 2009, Hera warned all of her hostees that she was planning to move and asked if we still wished to be hosted by her. I immediately replied saying "yes", and after a couple of weeks, I had chosen a new subdomain under her domain at Star-KissORG and began the moving process. That's also when I changed the name from Senritsu to Simplistic.

Simplistic's now just a place where I dump all of my icons and anything else I feel like putting here. It's basically a place for me to organize my thoughts and to rant and complain about daily life.

I'd also like to give a big shout-out and lots of hugs to my lovely hostess Hera, who has hosted Simplistic (previously Senritsu) ever since December 31, 2006!
The Story Behind the Name
Safire's Reasoning
I wanted a new name besides Blossoming Heaven (which was the name of my first blog) because it's too long and unreasonable. So I thought of Melody (since my name actually means melodious), but "Melody" was too common and too uninteresting. So then I looked it up in the Japanese translation for a more interesting site name (since at the time I was obsessed with Japanese names). The result "Senritsu" came up, and I decided that it sounded rather pretty at the time. Therefore, I used it for three years until Hera decided to change hosts and move. That finally gave me an opportunity to change the name, which I had wanted to do for a very long time.

I was originally going to rename my blog Aria, but I changed my mind last minute and named it Simplistic because
  1. It starts with the first letter of my name
  2. It defines me better than "Aria" does
  3. I'm not musical and can't sing or play an instrument to save my life even if that's what my name means.
Simplistic pretty much defines me - I'm a very simple person who loves the simple pleasures in life. And if you want to take it even further, it has a slightly negative connotation, pointing towards the direction that I'm simple-minded as well, which is also quite true. So as a result, the rebirth of Senritsu became Simplistic.
History
From 2006 to the Present
On June 04, 2006, with minimal HTML and design knowledge, I established Frozen Dreams in an attempt to offer quality anime-based graphics. Along the way, I met some wonderful people and was able to simultaneously improve my skills. The quality of my graphics improved tremendously when I installed Photoshop on my computer soon after that, although after half a year of fiddling with Frozen Dreams, I decided to close it and start anew. Senritsu, my first blog, was also established during my Frozen Dreams phase.

Not long after my Frozen Dreams episode, I opened Kyuuten Designs, which had the same purpose as Frozen Dreams except the quality was much better. I offered all sorts of resources from layout designs and icon bases to textures and brushes. However, the quality still was not top-knotch and after a year I wanted to destroy it completely and erase it from existence. During my Kyuuten phase, I opened many other sites (most of which were not very successful), such as Chisetsu, my collective, and Heartbeat, my fanlisting collective. This was when I was the most active on the world wide web.

However, I couldn't seem to live without my dose of design. A week after I closed Kyuuten Designs, I opened Coloration, an icon archive. Instead of focusing on too many aspects of design and being mediocre in everything, I decided to settle on only iconing and was able to improve my abilities that way. But once I began my sophomore year in high school, I became too busy to properly maintain Coloration and I closed it as well.

Once Coloration closed, I was able to focus all of my efforts on Senritsu (now Simplistic).
